'The week was very relaxing because of the woodpecker pecking in the tree, the kingfisher fishing in the river, Jake barking at the water, Flora and I canoeing on the river with the dogs and Mum and Dad working in the workshop! I thought it was great that I was allowed to use the power tools to help make the canoe,  anywhere else this wouldn't have been possible. I think our canoe is brilliant and it will definitely stand out from the rest. (Freddie 12)
 
I thought it was a really great week. I really loved being able to use all the power tools. It was so amazing that we could just make a canoe in one week. I really liked being by the river and being able to go out on the canoes whenever I wanted to, providing I had a buoyancy aid on and I told Mum and Dad. I especially loved choosing the paints and painting our canoe, which we eventually decided to call 'Wreake Rainbow', after the River Wreake and the rainbow colours we used. I would like to go back and make a smaller canoe for myself and it would be easier this time because I know more about how to do it. Just arrived home safely - driving with the canoe turned out to be fine,

with just a bit of movement in high winds. Great report on the website. Fame

at last! We have attached one photo which we thought showed the boat's

beautiful shape really well.

Thought you might like to see a couple of pictures of Silver Fish in action on the Driffield Navigation. We've just had a wonderful peaceful afternoon  - including a picnic stop of course- and as you can see Ewan took the boat for a solo paddle. The boat has drawn lots of complimentary comments from onlookers. (Our steering skills haven't!)
