You have a canoe inside you just waiting to be built!

If you have always fancied building your own canoe, but never had the space, the courage or the know-how to make it happen..

I think you will love building your first canoe !

You will be given personal assistance all the way through the process, and I guarantee you will be able to paddle your own canoe after only 3 days of ( pretty hard) work.

I provide:

A place to camp, or, for a bit more, a room to yourself

All the materials for your canoe, plans and ideas ( you are welcome to bring your own plans and ideas if you prefer, we are very flexible, as is the method we use)

Spacious workshop, and abundant tools and equipment

Personal assistance to make sure your canoe is successful

Buoyancy aids and paddles ( you can borrow ours, or bring your own)

A lovely quiet river to do your first paddle, running next to our garden

I will even video the launch of your first canoe..

We have a large, quiet garden with sheep, goats and chickens, swings and even a wooden fort for the kids to play in. There's plenty of wildlife to see

We have no neighbours, so you and your family can be as noisy as you like.

You bring

£500 per canoe ( the whole family can come, no limit! You only pay for the canoe)

Lots of energy and hard work

Your own tent and camping stuff, or, for a £75 extra, the use of a small self contained flat with en-suite shower

If this takes your fancy, have a look round the rest of this website, see the sort of canoes we build ( generally 15'6" open canadian canoes these days, but you can opt for different designs if you prefer). In particular check the comments people have made about their time here.

You take away

Your own canoe to be proud of! ( on the roof of your car)

Family memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Contact me on jclohesy at gmail to check whether I have a slot available when you want to come and build your boat. Alternatively, give me a ring ( evenings) on 01664 434689.

We are situated in a quiet country area in rural Leicestershire, but pretty central, being only 20 minutes from the M1. See Directions
