We run a limited number of 3 day canoe building courses at Station House, Brooksby, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire LE14 2LE from time to time.
For the 2008 season these cost just £600 per canoe. You can bring a friend, or the family, to help you build it. [ Note, there has been a significant price increase, as the plywood we use for these canoes has increased 300% in the last year.. however, it is the very best plywood you will ever get, with a 20 year Lloyds guarantee]
You will get personal assistance and guidance on your canoe throughout the process, from initial choice of the style you wish to build ( have a go in a few canoes on our river) to launching your completed craft 3 days later. We have plenty of experience helping people who are worried about their wood working skills, and people always manage to complete their canoes in this time.
